Project Outline

Client:   Ministry of Defence
Location:   London
Value: £57,000

To undertake the remodelling and refurbishment works for The Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. Although the Troop’s main quarters are stationed at Woolwich, the mounted ceremonial unit carries out duties on Royal Anniversaries and State occasions. These are held on the parade grounds of the Royal Households and the associated Hyde and Green Parks, respectively.

The works at Wellington Barracks comprised the construction of a new tack room, incorporating a newly-designed roofing system, new electrical and fire prevention installation, refurbishment of the existing showers to allow for unisex usage, and the remodelling of specific areas into troop accommodation.

Key Targets

  • To achieve completion within the programme, working within the tight and complex logistical restraints troops and horses being transferred from Woolwich to Wellington to be in close proximity to their ceremonial duties.
  • To meet dates whereby living accommodation would be fit for purpose, given fixed parade dates that had to be adhered to.

A very satisfied client, delivered on programme resulting in happy members of The Kings Troop.
