Project Description

Client:   Athenaeum Club
Location:   Pall Mall, London
Value: £42,000

IDCC was honoured to be given the opportunity to work for a new client – the prestigious Athenaeum Club in London’s Pall Mall. This is a private members’ club that was founded in 1824, with its legendary club crest designed by Sir Thomas Lawrence.

The works were to be conducted out of hours and over the Christmas and New Year period, with a tight brief to complete the programme before the Club’s staff were due to return. The works undertaken comprised a new lighting installation; the refurbishment of the ladies and gents WCs; shower and changing rooms; the renewal of access chambers; renewal of the floor coverings with clay floor tiles; decoration works and minor adaptations to the staff refreshment area.

Key Targets

  • Working to a 13-day programme, of which five of these were key public holidays.
  • To ensure excellent communication with the client and the Club’s Facilities Manager.
  • To deliver a high standard of workmanship, befitting the Club and its staff.

Outcomes

The client was very pleased with the outcome of the works, which were completed on time and to budget. IDCC has since been invited to tender for future projects
